The Honorable Duncan R. McCoy

Duncan McCoy has been a resident and active community member of Boulder City for approximately 20 years. He was elected to the Boulder City Council in 2009.
One of four sons of an Episcopal priest and a school teacher, McCoy graduated from Western High School before joining the U.S. Navy and serving in the Vietnam War. At the conclusion of his naval service, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, followed by a master's degree in Library Sciences from Indiana University.
Prior to retirement in 2008, McCoy was director of the Boulder City Library District for more than 10 years. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Boulder City, the American Library Association, the Nevada Library Association and has served as a board member of the Boulder City-Hoover Dam Museum and Historical Society.
McCoy has been married to Mary Elizabeth Lee for nearly 40 years. They have one daughter, Elizabeth, who lives in Las Vegas.
