The Honorable Steve Walton | Initial Appointment: 2024 Steven G. Walton has been a dedicated member of the Southern Nevada community for over 40 years. Since 2022, he has served as a City Council member for Boulder City, building on his previous experience as a member of the Boulder City Planning Commission and as the Interim Fire Chief for the Boulder City Fire Department. In addition to his role on the City Council, Steve contributes to several key regional organizations, including the Colorado River Commission, the Southern Nevada Water Authority Board of Directors, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors. Steve's professional career spans more than 30 years in the fire service. He retired from the Henderson Fire Department in 2010, where he held the position of Division Chief of Training. He also served as the Assistant Program Director for the Fire Technology program at the College of Southern Nevada and co-founded Human Resource Training Advantage, a consulting firm specializing in training and testing for fire service organizations. Academically, Steve holds a B.S. in Public Safety Administration from Grand Canyon University. He is fluent in Spanish and is actively involved in his community through the Friends in the Desert food program and his local Rotary club. He is an avid recreational hockey player, a commercially rated airplane pilot, and a Certified Flight Instructor. Steve and his wife, Darlene, are proud parents of four children and doting grandparents to 15 grandchildren, all of whom have attended or are currently attending schools in Boulder City and Henderson. |
